Just my imagination

If you could talk to a favorite character in a book, what would you say? Just my imagination is a weekly blog that gives small glimpses into the world of Andrea Johnson’s books, and the characters that make her words come to life. Just my imagination posts can be seen every Friday, showcasing new characters and their turbulent thoughts, from questions posed by the author.

Character: Amare. Book: His Nuclear Requiem

Character role: An unusual woman that has been existing in a state of incompletion her entire life. She is hiding… waiting for the secret beneath the darkness, to accept what had once been denied.

Question from the author: Why do you wait for something that may never happen?

Amare: Because this is all I have. I’m not like everyone else, Ms. Johnson. You made certain of that. I can’t do what everyone else does, or take part in the simple pleasures of life.

This is who I am, and I’ve accepted it a long time ago. Women shun me…men are afraid of me. I have no real friends, no one who will ever take the time to really know the woman I am. Except for him. I know that he alone can see me, touch me, complete me.

It doesn’t matter that it was because of him that everything changed. I know he may never forgive me for what I did to him…but maybe if he can find me in time…I can put a stop to what he will do to everyone else…..
