If you could talk to a favorite character in a book, what would you say? Just my imagination posts can be seen every Friday, showcasing new characters and their turbulent thoughts, from questions posed by the author.

Character: Sunflower. Book: Blood of my Blood

Character role: An impossibility. A contradiction of life itself. The other half of a whole. She is not who she appears to be, yet can become whatever you imagine. Her sole existence is to destroy the lightness to her dark.

Question from the author: How can you destroy something that is part of you?

Sunflower: That is an easy answer, Ms. Johnson. Samantha has never been, nor will she ever be a part of who I am. I am the dominant creation.

My blood is what will open the gates of hell. I will not allow this poor imitation of me to take what is rightfully mine.

She may be the light, but my darkness is power and control. I will scour the earth and find her wherever she is. I will take all that she loves and make her watch their blood shower my fingers. I will locate her and destroy her very essence. There can be only one of us. I will be the only manifestation.
